Go get one made up to your surfing ability and explain where you want to surf and then wait for a hand crafted board that will last a long time - ask for the resin tint !!!

I had my custom-made 8' board shaped at kimo's. Surfs like a charm. A couple of my friends had custom-shaped kimo greene boards and swear by kimo. Tell kimo your level, what you expect, etc., and he can recommend a board appropriate for you, or just tell him exactly what you want. My board came in at about $800. From his website.
